We don’t do anything crazy gift-wise for valentines day, but we do try and make the day special. Last year we had dinner at home, but it was still romantic and fun.

Divya’s Daily Deal 2/13/12 One for the Men…

Good Morning Loves! Happy Monday! I have had such a crazy couple of weeks with PhD work, I couldn’t bring myself to do anything else on the computer, even if it was for fun. Quick recap: I am now on week 6 (2.8 miles baby) of my running plan with the Fort Worth Running Company , (stay tuned later today or tomorrow for pictures from the photoshoot I did with them this weekend) and crazy calf pain aside, I am totally loving it. I feel stronger, healthier, and kinda proud of myself :) Now, I just have to figure out how to get rid of this intense pain in my legs and I’ll be set. I’ve been trying compression socks and having Rish “foam” roll my legs after each run to help…

Roll, Roll, Roll, your legs...

The rolling feels amazing on all those knots in my legs, but it doesn’t stop the pain from occurring in the first place. I guess my legs just have to get used it, and need more time. Maybe? Any advice from you runners out there?

Anyway, running outside in February brings me to todays Daily Deal, which is perfect by the way for Valentines Day!

Divya’s Daily Deal 2/2/12 A rare deal on “Losing My (True) Religion (Jeans)”

As good as I think I am at finding deals, there are some things that never seem to come on sale, and of course, these items just happen to be the things I need want the most. I mean would it hurt Louis Vuitton to give us a little “sumpen sumpem” now and then? Side Note: I lost the shoulder strap to my Eva Clutch

Half of my Eva Clutch

which allows it to also be worn as a cross body bag, and to replace the strap it’s gonna be $150.00. 150 bucks for a strap. Needless to say I can’t bring myself to pay for a new one, so now I only use it with the chain.

Anyway, this little issue  is the main reason (other than just good sense)  I make sure to save on the little stuff; it makes up for the big stuff. In my mind at least. :)

The best scenario all together though, is when the best stuff comes on sale! You guys know I’m all about “the best for less”. So…I’m so excited to share that Neiman Marcus is having an online only, 40% off contemporary sale with free shipping (CODE:SHIPNM)! I can not tell you how fabulous these deals are! I mean stuff is on sale that never comes on sale.

So today’s Daily Deal is up to  40% off on True Religion Jeans from Neiman Marcus!

A freshly laundered pair.

True Religion is/are? my favorite jeans, they are are soft, stretchy, age well, and fit amazing. I wear either super flared ones or skinny jeans, because well…I like extremes, and they do a fabulous job on both.

Here are some of my faves from Neimans.

1. Carrie Lonestar Slim Flared. OR $189.00 SL $113.00 These (shown above) are my favorite everyday day jeans!

Carrie Lone Star True Religion

2. Joey Super T Arena. OR $319.00 SL $191.00 A little less flare, more on the bootcut side.

Joey Super T True Religion

3. Jodie Glitz and Glam. OR $264.00 SL $158.00 These have “diamonds” on the button caps. Not too obvious or tacky, but subtle glam.

Jodie Glitz and Glam

There are a ton of other jean brands on sale as well in case you aren’t a fan of the True Religion ones! I just can’t get over what a steal these are! I may have some explaining to do to the deal Gods for my bad behavior in the past.

What are your favorite brands of jeans for your body type?

I would love to get a list on the site of your faves by build!

Happy Dealing!

The Great 28 Birthday Recap!

I’ve decided I’m going to refer to this year of my life as “The Great 28″.  I feel like giving each number of your life a special meaning makes that year all the more memorable. 27 was my golden birthday, 26 was the year of changes, 25 was the halfway point, and now 28 has it’s place too. The day was wonderful, nothing crazy but just a sweet nice day.

I started the day (4 am, when Rish left for work) with presents.

Birthday Box O'Goodies

Got some flowers in the afternoon.

Birthday Flowers with a funny story

Funny story, so these two bouquets came separately and the cupcake ones came first and had a note from Rish, so I knew he had sent them. Then, about an hour later the roses came…with no name. I called everyone I knew but no one had sent them. I spent the whole day super confused, and a little worried until I finally talked to Rish (way later) and it turns out HE sent them. It never occurred to me that he would send two bouquets. Anyway, it ended up being ok and creepy secret admirer situation averted.

We went to Rishi made dinner reservations at Ellerbe’s, a Fort Worth restaurant that is famous for their Lamb (my favorite food). The Lamb was amazing, def one of the best I’ve ever had. The best part of dinner though, was that my in-laws had driven in from Tulsa to surprise me.

We stayed at the restaurant for a while, talking through dinner and came home for birthday cakes (plural), and wine.

Cupcake Moscato...now I have the best husband ever

Couldn't have left the slippers off for one pic?

Mother In Law

Father in Law

The rest of the evening was spent eating cake and catching up. A great start to the Great 28!
